What have we become?

It is very disheartening to see what have we become. After returning to Malaysia I see that we have become so divided caused by our thoughts. We have become believers of our thoughts rather than what our Guru has taught us. Let us go back to the source of teaching that our Guru gave us, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (SGGS Ji). I dont want to go deep into the scripture but just the begining of it. I want to take you to the numerical 'Ek', which means One in English. Let us ask ourselves why the Guru had used this. Did he tell us to be divided, i.e. creating different groups of people, different societies running similar activities etc. Look around and see what is happening, we have divided ourselves, made ourselves and resources as shallow as possible, created more confusion. Ask someone who is new to religion or has decided to find out what Sikhism is all about. He is going to ask, who should I follow, who is right or what is right. When we forget our roots we will fall into this trap.

Let us ponder on why the Guru said 'Ek'. Look closely and you will see that it resembles a Sri Sahib (sword). What does a Sri Sahib signifies? It is a symbol of power. 'Ek' does not mean to remain with the One alone but to be united as we come from one source 'Ek pita ekaas ke hum barakh'. Just imagine if we are one and the wonders we can do, we will be super powers. I give you the example of Yogi Harbhajan Singh Ji, he created a economic power for the Sikhs in America. They dress up the way they want to, they go to their own school, they go to their own office... why? Because they are one.

Just imagine if we have our own schools, our own industry, our own hospitals and etc. Who can stop you and let us not kid ourselves by telling money is not important. Remember 'bhookhae bhagath n keejai' Pg 656 of SGGS Ji. We will not be able to do bhagti if we cannot sustain ourselves. I am not talking about becoming a 'maya dhari'.

What we trying to do today is getting to follow everyone on our own created path or the path that some person has created. We do not follow the ultimate path that will abide us with the True One and only the SGGS Ji can guide us on this. We do not try to understand what the Guru is teaching us. The time has come for us to read, listen, understand, abide and practise what is being said in the SGGS Ji. Currently we are mere readers and listeners, we have to understand by pondering and put into practise the good that we have learned. The SGGS Ji has abundance of jewels, let us together grab it, let us learn from others the benefit of being united, let us see the power of being one.

I am going to continue with this and pray for the blessings of Almighty to give me the power to do so.

Vesakhi again 2007

Every year we celebrate Vesakhi very grandly. What do we achieve from doing so, what is the difference of this vesakhi compared to the one we celebrated last year. We have to change. We need to take every new Vesakhi to become a better Gursikh. If we are not doing our nitnem, take this Vesakhi to start doing our Japji Sahib, at least. If we are already doing our nitnem, let us become good Sikhs by doing everything right. Example, stop throwing rubbish, start helping people, smile at everybody, greed another Sikhs. Our Guru thought us to be good in everything we do, be good in our studies is include. We need to the best differently, not because everyone else is doing it but we want to do it. Let us be different.

Future Plans 3

After a naujawan has taken amrit what happens? i would like to propose a Khalsa Camp, solely for those who have taken amrit, which will act as a support group. the number of days doesnt matter but the contents do. The camp should have motivation elements to help amritdharis understand the life of a Gursikh. As for the Pyares, there should be a readiness programme before any sanchar. What needs to be done is a get together to sit and do simren together and recite the nitnem to ensure everybody is prepared mentaly and spitually.
During the amrit sanchar, there should be an effort to collect details of the amritdharis. A news letter 'Khalsa Network" should be circulated to keep in touch with all in Khalsa fold. We dont want to lose our depleting sangat. A forum for all those who are interested to be oranised, to teach them gurbani, gurmukhi etc.

Future Plans 2

To be a leader one must have plans on what to achieve, i.e. begin with the end in mind. A vision is required, use what, why, when, who, where and how to create it. Have a mission on how to achieve the vision. In this mission there should be plans and milestones to check on its progress. I have this plan if I become a leader one day:-

Business plan
Dass Fund
One stop help centre.

I pray that I can be successful in doing what I desire most. Oh God please give me strength to always remain on Your path, help me to belief in Your Hukam, help me to abide to Your order.

Future plans

We need to lookout for a programme to accomodate the needs of your children - something like the Akaal Purkh Ki Fauj.
We need to have a helpline to help anyone with social problems
We need to look into having a museum

Nanak Three

At this point of time many years ago, the four princes of the Guru gave their lifes for us to walk with pride today. Let us ask ourselves are we worthy of the sacrifices of the little ones. We tend to question what significance of the past has to do with us today. Let us ask ourselves what would have happened with little ones were to relax and compromise, there would be no us today. I am proud of what they did for I cannot explain and compare myself to the little ones, only thing I can say is they made me look different.

Nanak Two Point Five

It has been a long time since I have posted something new. Today something made me think and I have to say something. Everybody knows what Guru had said but very few practise or rather understand why it was said or done. There is a 'knowing doing' gap. The Guru gave us articles of faith, i.e. kirpan, kara, kechera, kenga and one which was with us when we were born, kesh. Have we sat and ponder why did he give us these artcles. We argue the kirpan must be made of iron or argue that it must be of certain length. have we pondered why the Guru gave it to us. Did he gave it to us to defend ourselves, ask youself how can a 3 inch kirpan protect us, be realistic. He had a reason and the reason was to let us know that remember God at all times, be courageous, it is a sign of 'sur birta'. That is what made me different.

Nanak Two

Nanak travelled a lot to show many the path to truth. He never complained, he sacrificed to ensure his Sikhs are never let down. He earned an honest living, planted his own food and gave everything he had to everyone, that is why I am different.
